Officials involved in the “19th International Business Forum (IBF)” and the “2nd High Tech Port Fair” during a press conference held recently in Turkey.

Qatar will be hosting the “19th International Business Forum (IBF)” and the “2nd High Tech Port Fair” from October 6 to 8 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), the Permanent Committee for Organising Conference (PCOC) has said.
PCOC chief executive officer Abdullah Abdulrahman Naser Fakhro said the 19th edition of the conference “was the result of the evolution of strong relations” between Qatar and Turkey.
Citing “the activation of co-operation in the economic and commercial fields,” Fakhro said Qatar and Turkey are aspiring to increase trade volume, which reached $769mn in 2013.
He said Qatar’s leading ministries and economic entities like the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Information and Communications Technology’s (ictQATAR), Qatari Businessmen Association, Qatar Chamber, and Qatar Airways will participate in the event.
“This will also include the participation of ministries and high-level economic and commercial organisations from Turkey,” Fakhro also said during a press conference organised recently by MÜSIAD Qatar in Istanbul. The “2nd High Tech Port Fair” is a high-level, advanced and strategic technology exhibition by MÜSIAD Qatar, while the annual IBF aims to build trade and investment bridges between the public and private sectors.
MÜSIAD general manager Nail Olpak said: “High Tech Port by MÜSIAD will be another milestone for future co-operation between two countries that are tied together with a common history. With partnerships in advanced and strategic sectors, Qatar and Turkey will soon become global powers and historical partners.”
Committee vice chairman Staff Brigadier Mohamed al-Kuwari said the participation of the Qatari armed forces is considered as one of the pillars of co-operation between Qatar and Turkey “to consolidate the techniques that would help promote the military capabilities of both countries and support the creation of military industries and advanced skills to keep up with the developments in the defence field.”
IBF head Erol Yarar pointed out that Qatar is a “very important country” for Turkish businesses.
“We will enhance strategic partnerships between Turkey and Qatar not only with words and promises, but with actual activities. We will show the world what Islamic countries can do together,” Yarar stressed.
