‘Best Middle Eastern airline’ accolade for Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has announced that it has been voted Best Middle Eastern Airline for the 10th consecutive year at the 26th Annual TTG Travel Awards in Bangkok, Thailand.
“The latest win seals a decade of success for Qatar Airways at the TTG Travel Awards, organised by one of the most respected trade magazines in the Asia Pacific,” the airline said in a statement yesterday.
Readers based their voting on the “strength of the airline’s customer service, route network, services and also its innovation marketing, advertising programmes and initiatives”, the statement noted.
Akbar al-Baker, group chief executive of Qatar Airways, said: “To retain this accolade for 10 consecutive years is a tremendous achievement – it speaks volumes about the commitment and quality of the entire Qatar Airways team, which works tirelessly to provide unforgettable in-flight experiences for our passengers. “We take pride in offering our passengers best-in-class hospitality whenever they fly with us and are delighted that our efforts have paid off.”
Marwan Koleilat, Qatar Airways Southeast Asia Southwest Pacific senior vice-president, accepted the award on behalf of the airline in Bangkok. “We would like to thank our travel partners in Asia Pacific for this recognition and for their vote of confidence and unwavering support over the past decade,” he said.
“Asia Pacific continues to be one of our key priority markets and we remain dedicated to delivering the excellent service and product our passengers have come to expect from Qatar Airways.”
The 26th TTG Travel Awards honoured 84 organisations and individuals in the travel industry this year. The awards are organised by TTG Asia, with the support of TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTG-BTmice China, TTG associations and TTG Asia Luxury.

Airline showcases service at Expo Milano
Qatar Airways has concluded its participation at Expo Milano 2015 in Italy this week, where it showcased its award-winning service and hospitality.
The national carrier of Qatar took the opportunity to display the “best of its product offering”, with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner business class seat on full display for visitors to experience.
The airline also organised blue screen activities, where visitors took pictures next to their favourite destinations on the carrier’s network as a souvenir.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said: “We are delighted to this week feature as part of the impressive Qatar Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, which provides a unique opportunity and insight for visitors from around the world to experience the delights and hospitality of our very own home and hub.”
The Qatar Pavilion secured a position with the 10 most visited pavilions of Expo Milano, with more than 3.5mn visitors exploring the pavilion. Innovative technologies featured throughout the display areas attracted a wide array of visitors, set within the theme of Jafeer, the traditional basket made of palm. A restaurant also offered the tastes of traditional Qatar food for the visitors.Qatar Airways also took part in the opening ceremony for the Qatar National Day celebrations at Expo Milano 2015, an event led by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, Qatar’s ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki al-Jehani and Italian Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi.
