Qatar Museums (QM) and Qatar-based non-profit organisation Reach Out to Asia (Rota) organised a VIP gala dinner at the Museum of Islamic Art recently to thank its partners and sponsors for their support.
Hosted by HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, chairperson of QM and Rota, the dinner was attended by QM acting chief executive officer Mansoor bin Ebrahim al-Mahmoud, QM vice chairperson HE Sheikh Hassan bin Mohamed bin Ali al-Thani and Vodafone chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani. A number of dignitaries, VIPs, CEOs and chairpersons from local sponsoring companies
attended the event.
“QM and Rota reach different audiences in the work that we do, but we are united by a common passion for, and belief in the power of education,” al-Mahmoud said. “Whether helping aspiring artists in Qatar or children throughout Asia, education is key to helping people of all ages
reach their full potential.”
Rota executive director Essa al-Mannai added that as a member of Qatar Foundation, they work to build cohesive societies for the countries in need through various initiatives that give superior importance to the development of society and education.
“This wouldn’t be possible without the selfless support of our sponsors who share our vision and support us on our journey of humanitarianism,” al-Mannai said.
Among the sponsors that have supported both organisations include Vodafone, official partner of the “Culture Pass” programme; OXY, principal sponsor of the “Fire Station” project and principal sponsor of “MIA-Mathaf shuttle bus” project; ExxonMobil, platinum sponsor of “Qatar - Turkey 2015 Year of Culture”; SMH, QM’s exclusive automotive partner; Qatar Airways, official airline of “Qatar – Turkey 2015” Year of Culture; QNC WPC, partner of the Oil and Gas Gallery of the National Museum of Qatar; and W Doha, hospitality sponsor of “Qatar – Turkey 2015 Year of Culture.”
Sponsors honoured at the gala dinner have provided long-term support to a number of initiatives spearheaded by QM and Rota in Qatar and across Asia. These include the Qatar-Turkey Year of Culture, an annual initiative co-organised by the Ministry of Culture that aims to forge new partnerships between Qatar and the world and the “Fire Station: Artist in Residence” programme that help inspire an indigenous culture of creativity and innovation in Qatar.
