The Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) will be conducting a training workshop on “Production Management and Quality Control for Industrial SMEs” from October 12 to 14 at GOIC’s Doha headquarters.
The event forms part of GOIC’s training and capacity development (TCD) programme and a series of training workshops for the last quarter of 2015 geared at developing human capacities and professional skills in the industrial sector, according to a statement.
GOIC secretary general Abdulaziz bin Hamad al-Ageel (pictured) said: “The main objective of this training programme is to identify ways and means to improve the managerial skills in industrial SMEs for production management and quality control practices to increase profits and/or decrease/eliminate costs or losses in the plants.”
Al-Ageel said the workshop will gather production managers, engineers, quality control personnel, production supervisors, production engineers, and quality control managers from various private and public sector institutions in the GCC.
The course will be delivered by Dr Basel Shadid, who will also introduce problem-solving tools and basic statistical concepts, process control and process capability plans, acceptance sampling, and attribute controls. Participants will also discuss the productivity elements and quality dimensions, as well as several cost and waste-reduction strategies. Quality control and quality improvement techniques will be reviewed with focus on their relation to productivity.
Al-Ageel said GOIC is finalising its training schedule for 2016 as part of its thrust to support the industrial sectors and economies of GCC countries.
“GOIC seeks to promote individual and organisational capacities of the industrial sector in GCC countries and Yemen through the TCD programme,” al-Ageel said.
