Center Mark Scheifele and right winger Blake Wheeler scored in a span of 2:43 early in the second period to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils.
Goaltender Michael Hutchinson made 20 saves while left wing Andrew Ladd also scored for the Jets.
Cory Schneider made 27 saves for the Devils with left winger Jiri Tlusty scoring their goal.

Patrick Kane scored his second goal of the game with 3:11 left in overtime as the Chicago Blackhawks spoiled the New York Islanders’ 3-2 win in the first regular-season game at the Barclays Center.
Center Artem Anisimov also scored for Chicago while goalie Corey Crawford made 34 saves.
Captain John Tavares and defenseman Marek Zidlicky scored for the Islanders, who moved to Brooklyn after 42 seasons at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum.
Goalie Thomas Greiss had 32 saves for the Islanders.
Red Wings 4, Maple

Left winger Justin Abdelkader got his second career hat trick while goalie Jimmy Howard stopped 22 shots as the Red Wings beat the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Forward Dylan Larkin, in his NHL debut at the age of 19, had a goal and an assist for Detroit.
Center Henrik Zetterberg had three assists.
Rangers 4, Blue Jackets 2
The New York Rangers scored three goals in a span of 1:17 late in the third period, stunning the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 4-2 victory.
The Blue Jackets had taken a 2-1 lead on Brandon Saad’s power-play goal with 3:50 remaining before Oscar Lindberg tied it 2-2 only 1:14 later.
Kevin Hayes followed 17 seconds later before Mats Zuccarello then scored his second goal one minute later to make it 4-2.
Coyotes 4, Kings 1
Tobais Rieder and Max Domi each had a goal and an assist as the Arizona Coyotes defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 on Friday night.
Goaltender Mike Smith stopped 40 shots in helping Arizona (1-0-0) to a season-opening win. He improved his career record to 12-6-1 against Los Angeles.
Center Martin Hanzal added two assists for the Coyotes, who beat the Kings for the first time in regulation since March 17, 2014.
