Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani Museum received more than 7,000 guests during the Eid al-Adha holiday, a statement from the museum said.
The guests included citizens, expatriates as well as visitors from other Gulf countries, the statement said, noting that the figures marked a “new record”.
A “full programme of family activities and distinctive events, in addition to six workshops for children that contained fun-filled activities”, helped achieve the high visitor turnout, the statement added.
During the Eid al-Adha holiday, families enjoyed a special tour of the museum and its collections while being accompanied by experienced tour guides.
“Further, workshops and activities such as Lego and colours, painting, calligraphy, clay sculpture and drawing saw the wide participation of guests and were entirely booked in advance by families, who could spend some quality time with their children in pursuing their favourite hobbies,” according to the statement.
Visitors were also able to capture the special moments by taking pictures in the photography studio.
The museum’s recently established outlets such as the coffee shop, the new educational area and the souvenir shop, which displays a selection of locally manufactured products to reflect the originality of Qatari and Arabic cultures, were major draws as well.
