Acting on the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani a team from the National Search and Rescue Team of The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) left Doha yesterday for Zagreb International Airport in Croatia accompanying a plane laden with medical and food assistance.
The aid is part of Qatar’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of Syrian refugees and provide them with basic food and medical needs.
The Standing Committee for Rescue and Relief Operations and Humanitarian Aid for Areas Afflicted by Catastrophes in Brotherly and Friendly Countries headed by Qatari Research and Rescue Team (Lekhwiya) has undertaken this mission. It will co-ordinate with the authorities concerned to ensure the delivery of aid to Syrian refugees in Croatia.
Representatives from Croatian government and the embassy of Qatar in Zagreb will be present to receive the Qatari relief materials.
