The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) is conducting today a training workshop for health professionals in a bid to further improve the services offered for tobacco cessation.
The workshop will continue for four days and feature lecturers from Mayo Clinic, US.
The workshop, which is part of SCH’s efforts to combat tobacco addiction, will seek to formulate high-quality services for aiding in the process of tobacco cessation based on the most advanced international standards and through the participation of Mayo Clinic experts and other health specialists, according to a statement.
The participants, including physicians, dentists and pharmacists from both the private and public sectors, will get an international licence to offer standard services for tobacco cessation on fulfilling a set of requirements, the statement adds.
GCC Chambers Union meeting in Doha today
The general secretariat of GCC Chambers Union is holding today, in Doha, its first consultative meeting between the undersecretaries of GCC ministries of labour and representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry.
