Members of QNL to get access to OUP resources

Oxford University Press (OUP) has signed an agreement with Qatar National Library (QNL), through which over 10,000 legal documents and analyses will be made available on a free-of-charge basis to citizens and residents of Qatar through a national licence.
These documents and analyses include case reports, constitutions, bibliographic overviews, leading reference works and more.
“OUP is mission-driven to facilitate the widest possible dissemination of high-quality research, and this agreement makes available some of OUP’s highest quality law resources to individuals for personal, governmental, educational, research, medical or other non-profit purposes,” according to a statement.
The agreement is also in keeping with QNL’s mission to “spread knowledge, nurture imagination, cultivate creativity and preserve the nation’s heritage for the future”, the statement adds.
QNL is a non-profit organisation under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).
“OUP has been working closely with QF and QNL for a number of years, and we are delighted that two institutions have been able to support the academic community within Qatar,” said Graham Grant, head of library sales, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
“OUP and QNL will continue to support and train individuals and libraries to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from having access to this content.”
Andy Redman, editorial director for law products at OUP, added: “Both practitioners and legal researchers will benefit from instant access to these high-quality materials as well as gaining further support and training from both QNL and OUP to ensure as many people as possible are able to benefit.”
Sebastian Wilke, information services librarian for law at QNL, said: “OUP’s law resources are a valuable addition to the vast collection of online resources that QNL provides to all its registered members. They will be of great benefit to local law students, academics, legal practitioners and everyone else with a strong interest in legal resources. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with OUP in the coming years.”
Any registered member of QNL can access these products using their account. A Qatar citizen or resident permit holder is eligible to join the library for free.
