Minister meets NASDAQ official

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met NASDAQ vice-chairman Sandy Frucher in Doha yesterday. The meeting reviewed means of enhancing co-operation between Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and NASDAQ Stock Market in order to develop the financial market in Qatar. QSE CEO Rashid bin Ali al-Mansoori attended the meeting. NASDAQ is an American stock exchange that was founded in 1971 as the first electronic stock
market in the United States. It has a greater trading volume than any other US exchange and
includes about 3,200 publicly traded companies.


Prime Minister greets Canada’s new premier

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has sent a cable of congratulations to Justin Trudeau on winning the premiership of Canadian government, after his party won the legislative elections.

Minister of Arts and Culture meets Oman’s envoy
HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari received a written message from Omani Minister of Heritage and Culture Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq al-Said, in which he expressed his thanks to the minister for the hospitality that he received during his recent visit to Qatar.
The message also underlined the deep ties between Qatar and Oman in the fields of heritage and culture. It also hailed the organisation of the meeting of GCC culture ministers, which was held in Doha recently. Oman’s ambassador to Doha Mohamed bin Nasser Hamad al-Wihaibi handed the message when he met Dr al-Kuwari.

NHRC chief holds talks with German MP
National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Chairman Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri met German Bundestag member Omid Nouripour in Doha yesterday.
The meeting discussed ways of boosting co-operation in issues of mutual interest and working to transfer experiments and expertise in the human rights field.
