A substantial shrinkage in income from investments led Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) report a 5% decline in net profit to QR135.05mn in the first nine months of this year.
Sales rose 21% to QR285.43mn but cost of sales grew faster at 24% to QR239.54mn; yet translating into 9% increase in gross profit to QR45.89mn.
Operating profit was rather flat at QR17.15mn as other income fell 40% to QR4.35mn and general and administrative expenses shot up 2% to QR33.09mn.
Although share of results from associated companies grew 36% to QR112.76mn, there was 84% plunge in income from investments to QR7.64mn.
Finance costs were pruned 13% to QR1.67mn.
Total assets were valued at QR1.74bn, comprising current assets of QR0.35bn and non-current assets of QR1.39bn.
Total equity stood at QR1.51bn on a capital base of QR475.2mn and earnings-per-share was QR2.84 at the end of nine-month ended September 30, 2015.
