Ambassador Sanjiv Arora, who was the chief guest, highlighted the importance of the visit of such high-level delegations in enhancing the trade ties between India and Qatar. He said the Government of India attaches top priority to such high-level engagements. Arora also said through such interactions, IBPN and its members would benefit to a great extent in their business and profession. IBPN president KM Varghese stressed the need to build a conducive atmosphere for increasing trade between India and Qatar. A special presentation on “Looking Beyond Oil” by Ajay kumar, assistant general manager (asset management) at QNB, was the highlight of the function. Dr Naushad Forbes, CII president-designate, introduced his team members. He praised IBPN for its significant role in promoting trade between Qatar and India, acting as a “functional bridge.” Sujata Zinzuwadia, head (finance), IBPN welcomed the gathering and Kala Gopalakrishnan, vice-president, proposed a vote of thanks.
