Held under the patronage of HE Sheikha al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, chairperson of Qatar Museums, Qatar Turkey 2015 is the fourth consecutive Year of Culture organised by Qatar Museums, following Qatar Brazil 2014, Qatar UK 2013 and Qatar Japan 2012.

The event is open to the public with free admission.
The Turkish Festival will offer an opportunity to visitors to hear street music with davul, zurna, baglama and ney players. Turkish cuisine will also be available, which will include hotel-based restaurants as well as local Turkish eateries. Ice-cream, coffee and tea stalls will also be part of the festivities.
The New Angles, New Perspectives exhibition will depict the representations of the works of Qatari photographers from their cultural exchange trips.
At the festival bazaar, visitors can splurge on carpets, needle lace artwork, mosaic glass lamps, ceramics and copper and iron works.
The Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture is being held in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage and Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
