A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced two GCC nationals to three years in jail and a fine of QR200,000 each for illicit drug dealing and consumption, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The two men were arrested while trying to sell hashish and another synthetic drug to a undercover police source. The security authorities had received information that one of the convicts was dealing in illicit drugs at Al Kharaitiyat Area and the other was his middleman.
Accordingly, the security authorities laid a trap by deputing a source who contacted the middleman for some drugs priced at QR1,500. At the delivery point at the designated place, police was able to arrest both convicts and the drugs were recovered from them. Blood analysis for both of them confirmed that they were consuming the drugs too, the daily added.
