GCC e-govt panel to meet in Doha
The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ictQATAR) will host the 16th meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee on October 28-29.
The meeting will discuss a number of topics related to the progress made by e-government initiatives in the GCC states.
The meeting will also discuss items related to the enhancement of electronic communication and interactive meetings between the member-states.
The committee will also review preparations for the fourth session of the GCC e-government conference slated for November in Bahrain.
Qatar attends League meeting
The consultative meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives began in Cairo yesterday.
Ambassador of Qatar to Egypt and its permanent delegate to the Arab League Saif bin Muqaddam al-Buainain represented his country at the meeting.
Swiss embassy in Doha to outsource Schengen visa application process
The Swiss embassy in Doha has announced it will outsource the application processing for Schengen visa from November 1. The process will be done through VFS Global, which also offers the same services for Spain and Ukraine. More information could be had from www.vfsglobal.ch/switzerland/qatar. The working hours of VFS Global would be from 9am to 5pm from Sunday to Thursday.
