The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has launched on its web portal 15 additional e-services rendered by the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriates Affairs and the General Directorate of Traffic.
The newly-added electronic services are changing visa type, modify visa details, modify e-gate services, query on travel movements, travel movement statements, e-gate activation, certificate of written-off vehicles, vehicle clearance certificate, driver’s licence certificate, the first-owner certificate, ownership transfer certificate, certificate of fancy numbers, exported vehicles certificate, vehicle ownership certificate and certificate on previously-owned vehicles.
More than 250 electronic services are now accessible on the MoI website which is associated with different sectors of the ministry, including Passports, Traffic, Borders and Criminal Evidence and Information.
Customers can complete most of the dealings and transactions through the MoI website, Metrash2 application or via service centres located in different parts of the state.
The new e-services launching is lined up with Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy to enhance the service portals by using the latest technology at its best.
The e-strategy of the MoI can help the public to save their time and minimise efforts for the completion of the transactions. More than 1.2mn transactions were completed so far this year through Metrash2 while the number of information queries reached more than 4mn through it.
The e-services are expected to aid the growth of economy and trade and development of various sectors in the state, as the companies can complete necessary procedures related to the MoI in a short time.
On the occasion of launching the additional e-services yesterday, Brig Mohamed Saad al-Kharji, director general of Traffic, stated that the new services would greatly help to save the time and efforts of the people and urged them to access the services through electronic media without straining to visit the department or service centres.
There are special Metrash2 counters in all service centres and Traffic departments. The launching ceremony held at the Information Systems Department yesterday was attended by Brig Abdul Rahman al-Maliki, assistant director of Information Systems General Directorate, Brig Abdullah Khalifa al-Muftah, director of the Public Relations Department and Brig Abdullah Jabir Labdah, assistant director of the Unified Services Department.
