HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, held official talks with the UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in Doha yesterday.
Talks dealt with relations between Qatar and the UK and means of enhancing them in various fields, as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, particularly the situation in Syria.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that the visit of the UK foreign secretary to Qatar comes within the framework of continuous exchanges and consultations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom over the situation in the region.
It also emphasises the depth of relations between the two countries, Dr al-Attiyah added.
He emphasised during the meeting Qatar’s firm commitment to support the Syrian people, stressing its keenness to achieve a political solution to end the crisis in Syria.
