HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received yesterday evening a telephone call from US President Barack Obama.
Discussions during the call dealt with bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and ways to enhance them, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international developments, especially the Palestinian issue in light of the continued Israeli aggression on Al Aqsa Mosque and flagrant violations of the Holy City of Jerusalem.
HH the Emir and the US president also discussed the importance of accelerating efforts in order to take practical and serious steps to find a just solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the principle of two-state solution, as well as to stop the violation of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque and the need to move the stalemate in the peace process.
Discussions also dealt with the latest developments in Syria and international efforts underway to spare the region and the world the dangers of terrorism and to reach a political solution to the crisis there to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people’s demands and to preserve the unity of its territories. HH the Emir reiterated Qatar’s support for these legitimate demands.
