Qatar Charity (QC) has concluded the Syrian Humanitarian Crisis Conference with the participation of more than 100 officials representing some 50 government and non-government organisations.
Aid projects worth over QR144mn were pledged for Syrian refugees at the conference.
A number of organisations pledged aid targeting specific aid programmes. These include QC (QR100mn), Islamic Development Bank (QR25.55mn) for educational projects benefiting displaced Syrians and refugees, Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (QR10.95mn) for health projects, the Islamic Call Organisation (QR3mn) for winter support and the Muslim Youth International Forum (QR3.9mn) for different projects to aid Syrian refugees.
The participants stressed the need for greater focus on the educational requirements of refugees and enhancing their professional capabilities. Besides, they agreed that there should be further co-ordination between the partners in the aid efforts to arrive at more practical solutions for the humanitarian crisis.
