HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani will inaugurate today the new Labour City in the east of the Industrial Area.
The Government Communication Office said in a statement that the city’s total area is about 1mn sq m.
“It comprise 55 buildings which meet the highest safety and security standards,” the statement said.
The city can house about 100,000 people.
It has various amenities, including a clinic for workers, a mosque, a shopping complex, a cinema, a cricket ground and a theatre in addition to a security station.
“The Labour City will be a model for the construction of future projects,” the statement said.
“It reflects the State of Qatar’s keenness on the welfare of all segments of society as part of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
