The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) is poised to cater to the growth of the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE)industry by being able to bring multiple events to life simultaneously, general manager Ken Jamieson has said.

“We provide both the infrastructure and capabilities to logistically cater to meetings of 10 or 10,000, who will experience the effortlessness of our facilities with the highest level of personalised expertise,” he said in a statement on Monday.

During the first 10 days of October, QNCC hosted a number of international events, attended by thousands of visitors at its iconic venue.

“Our amply trained staff members are devoted to enhancing customer satisfaction and committed to bringing every event to life with our state-of-the-art conference and theatre equipment. Our contribution to the MICE industry in Qatar is an ongoing one, and we will continue to invest in our human capital, sustainability and venue capabilities to ensure that we continue to be the venue of choice for events and conferences in the Middle East,” Jamieson said.

QNCC has the capabilities to cater to events for a wide variety of audiences and with a myriad of requirements, he said while observing that “the incredibly dedicated staff members can pull together a family event, a tech exhibition or a medical conference and cater to the specific requirements of each with fluidity.”

From October 1 to 9, QNCC hosted the international theatre production of Peter Pan, a family-oriented event, which required complicated sound and lighting equipment and theatre style seating.

The second High Tech Port advanced and strategic technology exhibition was hosted by QNCC between October 6 and 8 under the auspices of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the partnership of MUSIAD (Independent Industrialists’ Businessmen’s Organisation) and the Under Secretariat for Defence Industries of Turkey.

“With its high-profile guests, the exhibition required increased security, which was provided by QNCC and did not interfere in other events that were held at the same time,” Jamieson recalled.

For three days from Tuesday, QNCC is hosting the World Innovation Summit for Education, held under the auspices of Qatar Foundation chairperson HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.

“At QNCC we provide a powerful platform for a wide variety of business and leisure events, thus boosting Qatar as the regional and international conference hub for business meetings, family entertainment and industry events,” added Jamieson.
