The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) has hosted the “6th Annual IR Conference” in Doha in association with the Middle East Investor Relations Society (MEIRS).
The event, which targeted all Qatari listed companies, featured a wide spectrum of presentations on a series of significant global best investor relations (IR) practices.
The programme topics aimed to educate listed companies on the importance of sound IR practices covering various topics such as the latest trends and best practices on producing annual reports, analyst days and earnings calls, use of digital media in IR, governance from an IR perspective, and advancing IR to the next level.
The workshop was aimed at supporting the further development and practice of IR in Qatar, in line with the increasing growth and significance of the QSE as an international capital market, and the growing importance of regional and international investors to Qatari companies.
QSE listing director Abdelaziz al-Emadi said: “We are very pleased to host once again the ‘6th Annual IR Conference’ here in Doha. The event is constructed to build on the groundwork of prior events and is specifically-designed this year to give our listed companies the opportunity to interact with industry experts in the area of IR.
“Transparency and disclosure play a vital role in the development of a shareholding company listed on the exchange. These two concepts are important pillars for the efficient functioning of a modern capital market. At the QSE, we strive to deliver the necessary tools and the know-how in setting up your IR strategies within your respective companies and communicating an effective strategy to the international investment community.”
Al-Emadi pointed out that the annual conference represents the QSE’s interest in developing the efficiency of the capital market in Qatar through the enhancement of disclosure and communication practices between listed companies and their investor base through the adoption of best practices in this area.
