ACDelco, part of Jaidah Automotive’s exclusive Chevrolet dealership in Qatar, has held the first “Parts Skills” competition for ACDelco’s sales consultants in partnership with General Motors.
Competing against participants from the GCC region, Jaidah Automotive’s wholesale division - representing Qatar - finished second in the contest.
Following the launch of the competition on October 6, ACDelco announced that the contest would take place annually.
The contest’s objective is to bring together ACDelco’s sales consultants from various ACDelco distributors across the GCC in order to showcase the skills and services offered to customers on a daily basis.
During the competition, there were three stages that ranked the 118 participants. First, they had to pass two rounds of online tests that assessed their product and marketing knowledge; in the final round, activities included written tests and role plays that evaluated selling skills.
ACDelco supervisor Antonio Fernandes bagged the second spot. He was awarded a runner-up cup, medal and gold voucher by well-known jeweller Joyalukkas.
Jaidah Automotive’s K T Rao, manager of the automotive wholesale independent aftermarket, said: “The ‘Parts Skill’ competition is a healthy way to engage our employees. It helps improve their skills and enhance ACDelco’s services, and also boosts the spirit of sportsmanship among ACDelco’s sales consultants in the GCC region.
“With this competition being the first of its kind, we’re pleased to have witnessed its success. We hope to see an even bigger number of participants take part in the competition next year, which will hopefully include a larger range of categories.”
The competition took place at the General Motors Academy in Dubai.
