Traffic on Al Mukafaha Roundabout gets diverted

Doha

The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, announced that traffic on Bin Zaben Roundabout, known as Al Mukafaha Roundabout, will be diverted to a signal-controlled intersection, newly built to allow for the construction of Al Rayyan Street intersection with Bu Erayyen Street.
The new intersection will ease traffic congestion in the area throughout the construction period. Al Mukafaha Roundabout will be closed to traffic and commuters will be able to use the new signal controlled intersection and any alternative routes as of Friday morning.
The new intersection will include three lanes instead of the existing two-lanes on the New Al Rayyan Road and Bu Erayyen Street, thus easing traffic congestion in the area. The authority requested road users to use internal and local roads surrounding the diversion area at the Bin Zaben Roundabout from 1am to 11am on Friday until work is complete and traffic is diverted to the new signal-controlled diversion.
Vehicles coming from residential areas in Al Rayyan area and heading toward Bu Erayyen Street are required to use the new alternative route parallel to the existing closed road which can be accessed via the northern or southern sides. Vehicles can also use a local road that leads to Al Ishra Street located south of the new road which is the alternative route to the existing Bu Erayyen road.
Road users heading from residential areas toward the New Al Rayyan Road can drive on the new alternative route which is parallel to the existing road to reach Al Rayyan Roundabout as shown in the attached maps.
The authority requested all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
