Masraf Al Rayan yesterday held its annual blood donation campaign in collaboration with the Blood Donation Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
The annual humanitarian event came as part of Masraf Al Rayan’s social responsibility strategy and programmes, set to provide HMC’s Blood Bank with the necessary supplies of additional blood stocks that could be used in saving lives and at the same time raising awareness of the significance of donating blood, the bank said in a statement.
The blood donation campaign was held at the bank’s head office.
Nasser Raeissi, assistant general manager, human resources & administration at Masraf Al Rayan, praised the campaign and the level of participation by the bank’s employees, as it becomes an annual societal exercise to strengthen the principle of raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, its positive impact on public health as well as the responsibility towards the community, the statement added.
Raeissi also pointed to the effective co-operation with HMC, working together for the good of the society.
The participants, from all departments, expressed satisfaction over the worthwhile cause, for being a part of this year’s campaign and making a contribution to alleviating the suffering of many people who may need help.
