The single-lane service road from Al Shamal Road to Madinat Al Kaaban East of Al Huwaila Interchange will be closed for about 1 km (as shown in the attached map), with effect from Wednesday (November 12). The closure is for a period of five months.
During the closure, vehicles from Al Shamal Road and Al Huwaila and heading toward Madinat al Kaaban will have to continue driving from Al Huwaila Interchange to Al Zubara Interchange (towards Doha) and make a U-turn back to Al Shamal Road. Then they need to take the right-hand exit leading to Madinat Al Kaaban.
The diversion located within Zone 75 in Madinat Al Kaaban area aims at improving safety and will allow for the upgrade of Al Huwaila Interchange on Al Shamal Road, which requires the closure of the service road east of Al Shamal Road, according to an Ashghal statement.
