Qatar Airways boosts capacity on UAE, Saudi Arabia routes

Qatar Airways has announced that it is increasing its capacity to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE and Dammam in Saudi Arabia by deploying extra wide-body A330s, B787s and B777s on these routes.
While the enhanced-capacity services to Abu Dhabi started on November 1, those to Dubai and Dammam would commence on December 1, the airline said in a statement yesterday.
On the occasion, Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said: “We are pleased to announce that we will be upgrading a number of our aircraft to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Dammam to satisfy increasing passenger demand for our award-winning services.
“As business and leisure travel to, within and through the Middle East region increases, more and more travellers expect a premium product and services. With our latest aircraft and our premium offering, Qatar Airways is perfectly equipped to cater to that demand.”
This year, Qatar Airways has launched new services to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Zanzibar in Tanzania, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan in Pakistan, and Abha in Saudi Arabia. In the pipeline before the end of this year are Durban in South Africa and Nagpur in India.
Beginning in  2016, Qatar Airways is also launching flights to three new US destinations – Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta, two new destinations in Australia – Sydney and Adelaide, Birmingham in the UK, and also Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
The upgraded-capacity daily flight schedules for Doha-Abu Dhabi (from November 1), Doha-Dubai (December 1) and Doha-Dammam (December 1) are as follows: QR1040 departing Doha at 11.55pm and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 2.05am (next day), and QR1041 departing Abu Dhabi at 6.25am and arriving in Doha at 6.40am; QR1018 departing Doha at 7pm and arriving in Dubai at 9.10pm, and QR1019 departing Dubai at 10.30pm and arriving in Doha at 10.40pm; and QR1150 departing Doha at 8.35am and arriving in Dammam at 9.35am, and QR1151 departing Dammam at 10.35am and arriving in Doha at 11.35am.
