UDC, QIC silver sponsors of ITMA

The United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari shareholding company and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, and Qatar Insurance Company are the ‘Silver Sponsor’ of the International Traffic Medicine Association (ITMA) Congress on Traffic Medicine and Road Safety.
The Congress is held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.
The sponsorship agreement with UDC was signed by Brigadiern (Retd) Mohamed Abdullah al-Malki, who is the Secretary General of the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Chairman of the Organising Committee, and Hussain Akbar al-Baker, UDC Acting Director of Marketing and Communication at a meeting yesterday.
Brigadier Mohamed Saad al-Kharji, Director General of the Traffic Department and UDC President and Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Jassem al-Othman were among those present at the signing.
Commenting on the sponsorship, al-Othman said “the ongoing co-operation between the Ministry of Interior and the National Committee for Traffic Safety is in line with our vision and our company’s commitment to support Qatar’s National Traffic Safety objectives and enhance public safety on Qatar’s roads.”
He said “the Silver Sponsorship reflects our company’s commitment to ensuring safety of the community residing not only at The Pearl but also around Qatar. We are, therefore, delighted to extend our support to research initiatives and discussions that promote traffic safety and the development of effective medicine in cases of injury. The conference will represent a great opportunity for exchanges between experts from many disciplines connected to traffic safety and traffic injuries.”
The sponsorship deal with QIC was signed at its headquarters by al- Malki and Salem al-Mannai, Deputy Group CEO of Qatar Insurance Group Mena Region, in the presence of Captain Mubarak Salim al-Bouainain, Assistant Director of Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior.
Al-Malki praised the QIC Group for their sponsorship and lauded their co-operation with the Ministry of Interior, and their social commitment on such issues as safety and security of the community.
He said the QICs co-operation with the National Traffic Safety Committee underscores its commitment to support the National Traffic Safety Strategy 2013-2022.
“By supporting the ITMA Congress, we hold a key role in bringing a group of experts to Qatar to share their knowledge and experience about problems in traffic safety and their solutions,” he added.
