Al Tawasol Park in Al Khor to serve the community

Doha

The newly-opened Al Tawasol Park is expected to attract many visitors, especially families and children from the northern community of Al Khor.

Sponsored by the Ras Laffan Community Outreach Programme, the park is on a 23,000sqm lot in the middle of Al Khor city near the commercial and residential areas. It was inaugurated by officials of the Doha and Al Khor municipalities recently.

Those who want to spend their afternoon and weekends at the park can use its entertainment facilities including a multi-use playground for all age groups. It also has various equipment for sports and other activities.

In a press statement, Ras Laffan said it sponsored the project to serve the needs of the community in the northern areas who requested a public garden and park established.

"We always aim to build communication bridges with the local community based on trust and co-operation among the industrial companies at Ras Laffan city and the local community," it added.

"The project is part of the outreach programme’s efforts to support the Qatar National Vision 2030."

Ras Laffan also aims to support the interests of the northern community through partnerships with public and private authorities by supporting health, sports, culture, and other initiatives.
