The draw for the GCC Tennis Championship Under-12 and Under-16 will be held at Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex today.
The championship is being organised by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) under the leadership of Nasser bin Ghanim al-Khelaifi with participation of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and hosts Qatar.
The Qatari squad is comprised of Eisa Shanan, Omar al-Jefairi, Rayyan al-Jefair, Hamad al-Mohannadi, Mubarak al-Sulaiti, Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, Nasser al-Yafai, Jassim al -Mahmoud, Abdulaziz Zainal, and Ghanim al-Khelaifi.
QTF Head of National Teams Committee assistant Ibrahim al-Khelaifi said the national committee had developed a comprehensive training programme for the national team that reflects the committee’s ambition to achieve some good results.
“The national team players participated in a series of local tournaments held in round robin format to give our players the opportunity to adapt themselves to the that format,” said al-Khelaifi.
Al-Khelaifi also said the QTF is confident of a good show by Qatari players during the championship.
