HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following decisions:
1. No. 55 of 2015 appointing Abdullah Ibrahim Abdurrahman al-Hamar as ambassador to Singapore.
2. No. 56 of 2015 appointing Bandar Mohamed al-Attiyah as ambassador to Jordan.
3. No. 57 of 2015 appointing Mohamed Kardi Talib al-Marr i as ambassador to Costa Rica.
The decisions are effective from their date of issue and are to be published in the official gazette.
Minister meets Italian envoy
HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani met the Italian ambassador to Qatar Guido De Sanctis in Doha yesterday.
Population of women crosses 600,000-mark
The number of women in Qatar has exceeded 600,000 for the first time, according to the latest figures published by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics on its website.
There are 600,065 women in a total population of 2,412,483. However the expatriate-citizen break up figures are not available.
The previous highest women’s population of the country was published in the month of May, when the country had a little more than 584,000 women.
At the beginning of this month, the country’s total population touched 2.4 million mark for the first time, it was reported earlier.
