Doha: Sebastien Loeb reckons Nasser al-Attiyah will face a ‘hard job’ when the Qatari sporting legend makes his FIA World Touring Car Championship debut in his home race later this month.
Loeb switched to the WTCC for the 2014 season after dominating the World Rally Championship for the best part of a decade and, since then, has established himself as a frontrunner.
Al-Attiyah has enjoyed considerable success in stage and cross-country rallying, notching up his second Dakar Rally win and his 11th Middle East Rally Championship title this season.
He will make a one-off appearance in the WTCC during his home event at the Losail International Circuit from 26-27 November in a Campos Racing Chevrolet.
Citroën driver Loeb, who is vying for the runner-up spot in the final WTCC standings, said: “Compared to Dakar or rallying it will be very different. To be on the limit everywhere and optimise everything will be a hard job. For the front-wheel drive you have to avoid the wheelspin all the time by trying to find the limit of traction but without wheelspin because you lose a lot every time you start to spin the wheels. It will not be easy.”

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when you are saying farewell to those that have left a positive impression. That was the case earlier this month when Canada hosted Mexico in a friendly at BC Place stadium in Vancouver.
