PM meets French leaders, condemns Paris attacks

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani chairing  meetings with French President Francois Hollande in Paris yesterday.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday held separate meetings with French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Manuel Valls and reiterated Qatar’s strong condemnation of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.
President Hollande received the Prime Minister at the Elysee Palace.
At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed the condolences of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on the victims of the terrorist attacks which took place in Paris on Friday.
HE the Prime Minister also conveyed the Emir’s greetings to the French president and wishes to him and the French people for further prosperity.
President Hollande reciprocated the Emir’s greetings, wishing him health and happiness and Qatar prosperity and welfare.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means to develop them in various fields in addition to a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The meeting was attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister.
At a press conference held after his meeting with the French president, the Prime Minister reiterated Qatari leadership’s, the government’s and the people’s condemnation and denunciation of the “terrorist and criminal acts in Paris which aims to sow instability and insecurity in the region”.
He added that his meeting with President Hollande dealt with issues of concern to the two countries and ways of developing bilateral relations in various fields, as well as regional and international developments of mutual concern.
The Prime Minister’s talks with his French counterpart Manuel Valls focused on co-operation between Qatar and France and ways of enhancing it in various fields in addition to the latest developments on regional and international arenas.
The meeting was attended by the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister.
Following the talks, the Prime Minister attended a dinner banquet hosted by Prime Minister Valls in his honour.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also held a meeting with French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve at the French Interior Ministry yesterday.  
They discussed co-operation between Qatar and France and means to develop them, especially in the field of security.  
The meeting was attended by the members of the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Later in the evening, the Prime Minister received at his residence at the Peninsula Paris Hotel Maurice Leroy, head of French-Qatari Friendship Society.  
During the meeting, they reviewed relations between Qatar and France, particularly in the parliamentary field, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
