Doha: Aspetar – the leading specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital –played a key role in the Sports Performance Summit on November 11th and 12th at the Emirates Stadium in London, joining some of the world’s foremost sporting performance practitioners.
This is the fifth year that Aspetar has participated in the summit. As a major presence and contributor to the event, Aspetar also hosted the fifth annual Aspetar symposium which discussed a range of topics and issues related to sports medicine. At the symposium, Professor Per Holmich, Head of the Sports Groin Pain Centre at Aspetar, along with a number of specialist doctors took part in an illuminating panel discussion on “Groin Pain Injuries.”
Also at the summit, representatives from Aspetar participated in a sports science panel discussion entitled “how sports organisation are built to last: maintaining success once you have it.” The panel was moderated by Mathew Wilson from Aspetar’s Athlete Screening Department and featured George Nassis from the Aspetar Football Excellence Programme (National Sports Medicine Program-NSMP). Both were joined by a number of other specialised speakers during the panel.
This Sports Performance Summit is designed to spark discussions about peak performance and generate innovative ideas amongst 600 of the World’s elite coaches, managers, sporting directors, technical directors and performance directors.
