Jets 4, Canucks 1
A pair of goal-starved forwards finally hit the score sheet as the Winnipeg Jets halted a six-game winless skid with a 4-1 triumph over the Vancouver Canucks.
Drew Stafford’s second-period tally, his sixth goal of the season but just his first since Oct. 25, stood as the winner for the Jets. He then added his seventh into an empty net.
Winnipeg center Mark Scheifele opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season and first in two weeks and then added his seventh on a rebound late in the game. Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec produced 29 saves while Ryan Miller made 30 saves for Vancouver.
Blackhawks 4, Oilers 3
Chicago blew a 3-2 lead late in the third period but Marian Hossa scored on a breakaway in overtime as the Blackhawks beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3. The goal came after Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford robbed Oilers winger Taylor Hall with a spectacular glove save in overtime, setting the stage for Hossa’s winner.
