Qatar renews pledge to complete Gaza projects

QNA
Doha

National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza chairman Mohamed al-Emadi has reiterated Qatar’s commitment to implement the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al -Thani on the completion of strategic projects funded by Qatar in Gaza, especially the housing project of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani City, which was announced three years ago, including 3,000 apartments to be built in three phases.
In a press statement issued yesterday, al-Emadi said that during his coming visit to Gaza he would discuss with the Palestinian ministry of public works and housing arrangements for delivery of apartments to their owners, including those who have been approved in the draw for the first phase, and would follow up completion of the remaining phases of the project with the competent authorities.
Al-Emadi emphasised that the implementation of the projects came in fulfilment of Qatar commitment to the Palestinian people in order to strengthen their steadfastness under the current difficult
circumstances.
He denied reports that there was a decision to cancel the third phase of the Hamad City project due to a shortfall in grant provided by Qatar for building the apartments.
