Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak yesterday met in Bratislava with Qatar’s Foreign Minister’s Assistant for Foreign Affairs, HE Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi. Talks during the meeting dealt with relations between the two countries in various fields and means of enhancing them in addition to a number of issues of mutual concern. Political talks were also held between the Foreign Ministries of Qatar and the Slovak Republic, headed on the Qatari side by al-Rumahi and on the Slovak side by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Igor Slobodnik. Al-Rumaihi also met with the Slovak Minister of Economy. The two sides discussed means of enhancing economic ties between the two countries.
Rumailah Hospital runs CIS
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced the successful implementation of the Clinical Information System (CIS) at Rumailah Hospital, the psychiatry department and dental facilities together with all their other satellite locations and therapy services.
This implementation is part of a phased roll-out of CIS across HMC and the Primary Healthcare Corporation where patient records will be stored and accessible electronically by the two organisations.
Dr Abdul Aziz Darwish, medical director of Rumailah Hospital and its associated satellite facilities, said that the hospital has put a number of processes in place to ensure a smooth patient experience.
Ministry holds workshop for hypermarkets
The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) organised a workshop on electronic linking of statistical data with hypermarkets in Qatar.
The aim of this workshop was to train participants from hypermarkets on the full linking mechanism with MDPS so as to get the prices of consumer goods electronically.
The process of electronic linking shall start by early December for foods and personal hygiene products, followed by other items to cover the largest possible number of goods calculated in the consumer price index.
The workshop was held at MDPS headquarters and was attended by representatives from Al Meera , LuLu hypermarket, Family Food Centre and Carrefour.
Youth Hobbies Centre takes part in stamp exhibition
Youth Hobbies Centre (stamps and currencies) is taking part in the Asian International Stamp Exhibition, which was launched on Friday in Hong Kong.
The five-day exhibition is being held under the umbrella of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP).
Hussein Rajab al-Ismail, Youth Hobbies Center board member, said the centre is keen on participating in the Gulf and global events thanks to the unique collection of stamps and currencies it has.
Ismail added that the centre has recently taken part in the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition, winning five medals - one gold, three silver and one bronze.
Strong winds, high seas expected today
Strong winds and high seas are expected in the offshore areas today, the Met office has said.
The wind speed in these areas may go up to 25kt towards the north before decreasing by night, according to the weather report.
These areas will also remain partly cloudy during the day, the weather report said.
Inshore areas, meanwhile, are likely to see slight dust and some clouds.
The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country today are expected to be 20C and 28C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 21C and 27C, the report added.
