Barwa Bank announces 2nd round of Thara’a winners

Barwa Bank has announced the second round of draw winners for Thara’a, the bank’s newest high-profit Shariah-compliant savings account.
The bank said Mohd Abdulla Alemadi has won a prize worth QR50,000, while Ayat Hisham Taha, Jamal Abdu al-Ammari, Maryam Ibrahim al-Emadi, Hessa Ibrahim al-Mulla, and Jamal Mohd al-Kubaisi won cash prizes worth QR25,000 during a draw held at the Barwa Bank’s headquarters.
Salem Saeed Almarri, Mohamed Imran Siddiqui, Mohd Ahmad al-Marzouqi, Izzeldin Ismail Bashir, Aisha Mubarak al-Hamad, Hatem Darwish, Ali Mahmoud Abualainin, and Zohaib Kamal each won cash prizes worth QR5,000.
According to Barwa Bank, the draw was held under the supervision of a representative of the Quantitative Licence and Market Control Department at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
Thara’a offers account holders the chance to benefit from cash rewards up to QR1mn, a first for Islamic banks in Qatar.
Based on several criteria, Thara’a account holders are eligible for a number of periodic draws for cash prizes.
Totalling QR2.645mn, Thara’a cash rewards are distributed on both a monthly and quarterly basis to customers holding a minimum balance of QR10,000.
Qualified customers are eligible for a maximum of three draws per month for monthly draws rewarding 44 winners in total, with cash prizes up to QR50,000, and for a maximum of 11 quarterly draws, each granting one customer a grand prize of QR1mn.
Coupled with the cash prizes and reward scheme is a bundle of value-added benefits and services.
