Leading wellness brand VLCC held its first “stand-a-thon” – Stand Up Qatar – at its C-Ring Road branch recently as part of its anti-obesity campaign. Participants were given the opportunity to demonstrate their support to the anti-obesity drive by standing up against obesity, engaging in competitions and enjoying a fun-filled exercise event.
“Most people sit for 6-7 hours a day, significantly increasing their risk of developing major health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers and obesity. VLCC is committed to helping Qatar residents combat the dangers of leading a sedentary lifestyle, urging them to be more active,” said Vandana Luthra, founder, VLCC. The Stand Up Qatar event challenged participants to stand for an extended time period, “fighting the scourge of prolonged sitting”, according to a statement.
