The Advisory Council held its weekly regular meeting of its 44th regular session under the chairmanship of its Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
At the outset of the meeting, HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahad bin Mubarak Al Khayareen read the agenda which was then agreed upon. Then the Council endorsed the minutes of its previous session.
The Council reviewed the proposal submitted by the member of the Council Hamid Ali al-Ahbabi on development plans and attention to the level of services in the country’s villages.
The Council decided to refer it to the Public Services and Utilities Committee for further study.
Qatar-Eritrea pact
on employment
of labour
Minutes of the exchange of ratification documents of an agreement between the governments of Qatar and Eritrea regulating the employment of Eritrean labour in Qatar were signed yesterday at the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters.
The agreement was signed in Doha on 27 March, 2008.
The Director of the Foreign Ministry’s African Affairs Department Riyadh bin Ali al-Ansari and the ambassador of Eritrea to Qatar Ali Ibrahim Ahmed signed the minutes.
Diplomatic Institute
concludes training
The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has concluded a specialised training course on “Policy Analysis”.
Eight diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the four-day training course.
The course included several topics, including: the definition of political analysis and objectives, practical steps to write a political analysis, practical examples of political analyses and writing a political analysis.
Points of the strengths and weaknesses in the reports prepared by the trainees, which included analyses of some current developments in the region, were discussed at the course.
The training course was part of the Diplomatic Institute’s plan for upgrading the skills of the diplomats at the Foreign Ministry.
