The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced the opening of a new single-lane road at Nasser Bin Abdullah Al Missned Street, near Al Khor Corniche Roundabout towards Al Khor Commercial Street for a distance of 450m in each direction.
The existing temporary road will be closed and traffic diverted to the new adjacent road, as shown in the map, starting today.
The diversion aims at facilitating the implementation of works on the roads and infrastructure for Al Khor Commercial Street project, which will improve road alignment and road cross sections within right-of-way corridors ranging between 16m and 40m, enhancing the smooth traffic flow.
The project will also include the construction of signal-controlled junctions, as well as service roads and parking bays that will improve commercial and residential access.
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the diversion. The authority has requested all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
