Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) Ladies Forum, in partnership with Ooredoo, held a five-day community development workshop for Qatari university students and graduates.
Under the ‘Benevolent Entrepreneurs’ programme, the workshop was designed to empower “Qatari young women professionally” by preparing them to start sustainable development projects.
In a press statement, QRCS said the activity also trains participants how to plan, execute, follow-up and compose project financing proposals, as well as teach them the best strategies to overcome challenges, “turn weaknesses into strengths, and ensure transparency and accountability.”
Speaking at the workshop, Ooredoo’s Public and Community Relations director Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari cited their commitment to community development and efforts to promote human development in its host countries.
“Inspired by its deep interest in humanitarianism and corporate social responsibility, Ooredoo offers diverse forms of support to charities and nonprofits in Qatar in view of their significant role in helping many needy people,” she said.
Al-Kuwari noted that they will continue to sponsor the “Benevolent Entrepreneurs” programme in its community development endeavours.
The programme is a comprehensive training initiative focusing on Qatari young women to develop their skills and help them contribute to their community, as well as encouraging them to help in humanitarian causes with a special focus on leadership potential.
Some of the participants included owners of Qatari youth initiatives such as Hessa al-Dosari (Enlighten Me campaign), Al Reem al-Kaabi (Call for Benevolence), and Dr Lateefa al-Mughaiseeb and Asmaa al-Sahli (Merciful Qataris).
