UAE continued their impressive run in the 2nd GCC Women’s T20 Championship at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium here with nine-wicket wins over Oman and hosts Qatar.
In the match against Oman, UAE bowlers, while taking only four wickets, restricted their opponents to 84 runs in the 20 overs with Vaishali scoring 22 and Jayadhan and Saya scoring 17 runs each.
Shivani, Dharini and Humaira claimed a wicket each for UAE.
In reply, Esha and Natasha scored 73 runs between with the former scoring 38 runs and the latter 35, leading their team to a huge win. For Oman, Anupama took a wicket.
Esha was adjudged Player of the Match for her batting effort,
In the match against Qatar, the hosts batted first with Aysha Mohamed top-scoring for the home team with 28 runs. Nazia scored 14, Hiral 13 and Rizpha 10 as Qatar put 90 runs on board at the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
Dharini and Humaira took two wickets each, while Natasha and Subha claimed one each for UAE.
Subha and Esha led the scoring for UAE in reply scoring 38 and 37 runs respectively.
Humaira, who also took three catches, was adjudged Player of the Match.
