The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced a recall of 2014-15 Jeep Wrangler models due to a possible side mirror defect that may cause water to leak inside the vehicle.
The recall is being conducted in collaboration with United Cars Almana, the dealer of Jeep vehicles in Qatar.
The MEC has said the recall campaign falls within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle
defects and repair them.
It will coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary
repairs are carried out.
The ministry has urged customers to report violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department through its hotline (16001), email (info@mec.gov.qa), Twitter (@MEC_Qatar), Instagram (MEC_Qatar) and the MEC mobile app for Android and iOS (MEC_Qatar).

CRA approves Ooredoo’s access offer
The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has issued an order approving the reference infrastructure access offer (RIAO) of Ooredoo, which will enable all existing and future licensed service providers a fair and non-discriminatory access to Ooredoo’s telecommunication ducts, and with the objective of enhancing availability of additional networks in Qatar.
Ooredoo is required to publish the approved RIAO in its official website within 14 days of the date of the order. Qualified service providers may then initiate access requests with Ooredoo and negotiate agreements based on conditions stated in RIAO.
“The provision of access to the incumbent operator’s ducts brings CRA at par with its regional and international counterparts. This RIAO, together with the previous reference offers for interconnection and transmission, form a critical part of CRA strategy to foster competition in the market,” said Mohamed Ali al-Mannai, president of CRA.
Earlier this year, CRA issued Reference Interconnection Offers for Ooredoo and Vodafone and Reference Transmission Offer for Ooredoo.
The Reference Interconnection Offers for Ooredoo and Vodafone allow customers of one service provider to talk with customers of other service providers, while Reference Transmission Links Offer for Ooredoo facilitates voice calls using other service providers’ networks.
