British rider Benjamin Menzies clinched the MX1 win in the third round of the Losail MX Championship, winning the two races ahead of the Kuwaiti rider Mohamed Jaffar.
'In the first race, I got a good start and I chased to be in the lead with Ryan Blair. From there, we pull a bit of the gap away from Jaffar and Mishary and after that. Once you pull the gap, I just tried to relax and keep constant throughout the race," said Menzies.
Jaffar had an electrical problem with his KTM bike and he had to ride with one of his friends machine, which made him to feel less comfortable on the track. "I was feeling comfortable for this race but I had some electrical problems with my bike and I had to race on my friend’s bike, another brand and I am not used to ride it but, no excuses. Ben was fast. I tried my best even If I was not riding my bike and I will try to push harder in the coming round to reduce the gap in the standings. Thanks to QMMF for the hospitality and to my sponsors Red Bull, Sand Garde, Adidas, MX Academy and Drag 965," Jaffar said.
Menzies leads the standings with 97 points, while Jaffar is second with 91 and Balooshi third with 78 points.
Ryan Blair got the victory in the MX2 category to lead the standings with 150 points having won all the races. Kuwaiti riders Meshary Abou Shaibah and Barak al-Jasmi came second and third respectively in the MX2 race.
Finnish rider Tomi Sarivaara was the winner in the Veterans category while Emirati rider Ahmed al Nuaimi won the Junior MX 65 category and Enrico Barbaglia from Italy won the Junior MX 85cc category.
The next round will be held on January 8, 2016.
