Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), in collaboration with Qatar National Day Organising Committee, will be providing free guided tours of Darb Al Saai from Tuesday until December 20.
The tours will go to Darb Al Saai on board the Doha Bus, departing from key landmarks including Souq Waqif, Aspire Park, Sheraton Park and The Pearl-Qatar.
A team of tour guides will receive visitors at Darb Al Saai to show them around the various activities, and explain the significance of each in the context of Qatar’s history, traditions, and heritage. Buses will depart from their stops every day at 7am, 9am, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.
QTA will invite visitors to Darb Al Saai to experience the newly launched Qatar Destination Brand and the country’s warmth of soul and depth of vision, through an interactive stand showcasing the brand and its accompanying bespoke photography and film.
“The process of developing the Qatar destination brand began on Qatar National Day 2013, with the launch of the #MyQatar campaign, and we are delighted to return to where it all began and celebrate the results with all of Qatar’s residents,” said QTA’s Public Relations and Communications director Faisal bin Ahmed al-Mohannadi.
Using the outcome of the #MyQatar campaign as the basis, QTA has developed the destination brand in line with both Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Tourism Sector Strategy.
The resulting destination brand reflects the nation’s persona, hopes, actions and vision. It takes inspiration from multiple characteristics that define Qatar today: traditions, heritage, hospitality, a love for art, a dedication to excellence, modernity, confidence, and dynamism.
As part of celebrations QTA will collaborate with hotels to ensure the spirit of Qatar National Day is shared with visitors and tourists. Hotel establishments are encouraged to decorate their rooms and reception areas in maroon and white, and to ask their staff to dress in the national dress.
