Qatargas to present 15 papers at IPTC

Qatar Petroleum president, chief executive and Qatargas chairman Saad Sherida al-Kaabi and Qatargas chief executive Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani with senior officials and staff of Qatargas at the company’s pavilion at the 9th International Petroleum Technology Conference.

Qatargas will present 15 papers covering a variety of subjects that highlight its innovation, operating excellence and environmental stewardship in the 9th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
Qatargas delegates will also be presenting best practices in addressing some of the major engineering challenges in the liquefied natural gas industry.
Qatargas chief operating officer (Engineering and Ventures) Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla al-Thani will attend a panel session, titled “Investing in Energy and Optimising Costs for the Long Term” and will deliver a presentation on some of the major projects to improve energy efficiency titled  “Qatargas Environmental Projects: Past and Present”.
As a key industry event, Qatargas views the conference as a platform to discuss and share perspectives on current and future industry topics, exchange knowledge and benefit from the expertise and capabilities of the participating countries and organisations.
Qatargas is a titanium sponsor of the Young Member Activities organised as part of the conference to benefit the best undergraduate and post-graduate petroleum engineering students from international institutions.
Held under the theme “Technology and Partnerships for a Sustainable Energy Future”, the event addresses the need for partnerships involving business, government, and civil society, and explore collaborative strategies for making current energy sources cleaner and more efficient, and producing and distributing energy in potentially new ways.
An exhibition is being held in parallel to the conference, in which Qatargas is participating as part of the Qatar Petroleum pavilion.
