Gharafa score big win over Ahli

Kevin Dwayne Galloway and Emmanuel Osaro Adako inspired Al Gharafa to a massive 92-54 win over Al Ahli in the Qatar Men’s Basketball League at Al Gharafa Sports Club yesterday.
Ahli got on to the scoreboard first at 2-0, but from thereon, it was Gharafa all the way.
Galloway scored 23 points, including seven two-pointers, two three-pointers and three free-throws, while Adako pitched in with 21 points. Adako had six two-pointers, a three pointer and six free-throws to his name. Abdulrahman Mohamed Saad added 18 points while Nedim Muslic scored 11.
Jimmy D Williams scored 22 points for Al Ahli but that wasn’t enough to propel them close to a victory.
Mohamed Aisameldin Abdullah and Roberson Lamar Demond were the others in the Ahli roster to get into double figures with 15 and 13 points respectively.
In the second match of the day, when Al Sadd took off with a 11-0 lead against Qatar Sports Club, there was no looking back.
Sadd, with Khalid Suliman Abdi and Saad Abdulrahman Ali scoring 46 points between them, beat Qatar SC 87-72.
Qatar SC, with Rashad Woods, who scored 25 points in the match, in their ranks, did try and close the gap to two points with a nine-point scoring run in the middle stages of the game, but that wasn’t enough, eventually.
Abdi was the top-scorer in the game with 26 points, while Ali added 20.
Abdi had nine two-pointers, eight free throws and 11 rebounds to his name, while Ali dunked three two-pointers, four three-pointers, and two free throws.
Abdirahman Ibrahim Giama was other man in the Qatar SC roster to get into double figures with 15 points.
Today, Al Arabi take on Al Wakrah in the early match at 5:15pm, while Al Rayyan will face Al Shamal at 7:15.
