LG launches latest smartphone V10

LG Electronics has launched in Qatar its newest smartphone the V10, featuring multimedia capabilities ‘never before seen in a mobile device.’
The first V Series phone, the LG V10 boasts of distinctive new features such as a second screen, dual front cameras and a manual video mode.
Wrapped in high-grade stainless steel and a durable silicone skin, the V10 is described as ‘one of the rare smartphones to pass drop tests for shock conducted by an independent third party.’
The second screen, which serves as an inset display above the main 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display on the V10, can be set up as an “always on” display without impacting battery life.
The second screen can be set to display the weather, time, date and battery icon when the main display is off. When the user is enjoying a movie or game on the V10, the second screen will notify discreetly without blocking the view when a call or text comes in.
Running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor, the V10 features 5MP dual front cameras with two separate lenses to capture standard 80 degree selfies or wide angle selfies of 120 degrees. For the wide angle shot, a sophisticated software algorithm combines images from the two separate lenses to provide two different points of view. Multi-view Recording can capture different angles utilising all three cameras on the V10.
The rear camera is 16MP with F1.8 aperture. The V10 is the first smartphone to offer manual mode for video. Shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance and focus can be adjusted while recording. Videos can be recorded in three resolutions — HD, FHD or UHD — and two aspect ratios — 16:9 standard or 21:9 cinematic.
Steady Record utilises electronic image stabilisation optimised for recording video to neutralise shake. Snap Video allows the creation of one video by combining many shorter videos. The 15 Second Auto Edit creates a short video highlight clip by automatically eliminating blurred frames and static scenes.
Quick Video Editor trims or changes the frame rate and add after-effects, such as colours and background music, while through the Quick Share feature, once a recording is finished, a pop-up appears on the display showing
options of popular social networks.
Audio Monitor adjusts the sensitivity of the three microphones during video recording and directly monitors and controls audio input, including directional recording capability to highlight sound from one particular location. Wind Noise Filter eliminates external wind noise for high-quality sound when shooting video outdoors.
Compatible with cards of up to 2TB, V10 owners can shoot as much 4K video as they want. The 3,000mAh removable battery, allows the user to pop in a second or third replacement battery if required. With the built-in Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, it only takes 40 minutes to get a 50% percent charge.
The Dura Guard frame secures the display to protect the phone from hard bumps and tumbles. The LG V10 is the first commercial device to utilise Qualcomm Technologies TruSignal antenna boost technology designed to intelligently optimise signal strength.
Along with the Knock Code, the LG V10 features a new fingerprint sensor to unlock the smartphone and turn on the display simultaneously.
“The LG V10 was designed from the ground up primarily as a multimedia smartphone for the sharing ecosystem,” said C V Rappai, director and CEO of Video Home & Electronics Centre.
As a special launch offer a HBS500 bluetooth headset is provided free with the V10. The first 20 customers will also be getting a 200GB memory card. The LG V10, priced at QR2,799, will be available at all Jumbo Electronics showrooms, Spark Lifestyle Electronics and leading hypermarkets. Video Home & Electronic centre is the sole distributor of the entire range of LG products in Qatar.
