Officials and dignitaries mark the occasion
Community College of Qatar (CCQ) has hosted a special event over two days on the Lusail male and female campuses to celebrate Qatar National Day.
Faculty, staff and students gathered to witness the traditional Qatari setting and experience at the event, which featured the sadu tent with Qatari furniture as well as local dishes.
The event also included a number of competitions, such as best decorated car and best decorated cupcake, as well other attractions and festivities. The celebrations included an Arts & Sciences Expo, where projects by students were displayed.
Dr Ibrahim al-Naimi, president of CCQ, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the students on their projects, stressing the importance of such expos in contributing to the progress and prosperity of the country.
Dr Linda Libele, chair of humanities and organiser of the expo, said: “The inspiration for the expo was to create an event that engages our students and connects them to their course subjects. The students exceeded my expectations with their creativity and innovation, and I congratulate them for their achievements and efforts.”
CCQ will hold another celebration on December 13 for students on the C-Ring
